The Groundwork is a powerful 6-week programme designed to support your mindset, emotional wellbeing, and nervous system - the parts of your bariatric weight loss journey that are often overlooked.
Whether you’re pre-op or newly post-op, this programme helps you quiet the food noise, build calm, and create habits that actually last.
This is the work, that makes the other work stick! You’ve done the hard part. Now, it’s time to build the foundation.
WHAT WE COVER
Each week includes easy-to-use tools, reflection prompts, and printable resources you can come back to over and over.
SESSION 1: Food Obsession, Withdrawal and the Food Fog
Understand why food noise dials up, how to manage cravings, sugar withdrawal, and the obsessive headspace that often shows up.
SESSION 2: Real Hunger vs Head Hunger
Learn to decode your hunger cues - physical, emotional, habitual and mental - so you can eat with more awareness and less guilt.
SESSION 3: Emotional Eating & Nervous System Awareness
Discover how your nervous system drives food urges and how to self-soothe in ways that don’t involve the fridge. Learn the ‘colours’ of your nervous system and what brings you back to calm.
SESSION 4: Fear of Failure & the Myth of Willpower
Shift out of all-or-nothing thinking and into habits that actually rewire your brain. You’ll learn how to practise instead of push and what to do when you feel like you’ve “blown it.”
SESSION 5: Identity Shifts & The Transformation Curve
Weight loss is only one layer. Explore who you’re becoming, what you're letting go of, and how to rebuild self-trust. You'll be guided through the real emotional curve that no one talks about.
SESSION 6: Regulation, Calm & Setting Yourself Up for Success
Finish with a full-body reset. You’ll create a calm ritual, build a personal coping kit, and practice techniques to support your mind for life after surgery.
